Movie Mandates: The Odd Couple II (There’s a Sequel?!!!)

Play

Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  December is a new month and a new month means a new theme and that new theme is: There’s a Sequel?!!!  Yes, December is all about those movies that somehow ended up with a sequel.  For example, this week’s mandated movie is the 1998 sequel to the 1968 adaptation of the 1965  Neil Simon Broadway play, The Odd Couple.

Yes, they made a sequel to The Odd Couple.

Yes, 30 years later.

They certainly weren’t cashing in on a hot IP so surely they had a story that needed to be told, right?
