Movie Mandates: CUTIES (Pearl Clutchers)

Welcome to Movie Mandates, a review show in which sibling cinephiles Andrew and Keleigh force each other to watch movies according to a monthly theme!  June is Pearl Clutchers month and I mandated Cuties, a movie about a dance troupe of young girls who, lacking any guidance from the adults in their lives, mimic the overtly sexual dress and dance moves they see online.  This film created a firestorm a couple years back, not due to the film’s content or themes, but Netflix’s obnoxiously thoughtless marketing that focused on the young leads posing provocatively in their skimpy dance duds.

How’s the movie?  Well, that’s what we’re here to find out!
