Want to discuss the games? Do it here! Try not to spoil too much, though, and make use of spoiler tags where appropriate. :P

Let's get this started with the obvious question: What's your favorite Tales game?

I'm playing ToP now! I just beat the dragon in the Euclid coliseum on level 50. It was extremely hard!

This game rocks. ^^

It's good stuff, Hale. If you like RPGs with battle systems that handle more like fighting games, I suggest you give 'em a try.

Any tales game is worth playing. They give you a unique feel to them. The only game that I can remember ever giving this sort of expereince was Super Ninja...something. Anyways.
It is sort of a combo between the world of FF with Secret of mana. You walk around normally as you would in any rpg, but once you encounter an enemy, you are taken into a battlefield where you are free to do whatever you want with the boundary of the field being your only limitation.
I'd say the best game to start off playing on is Tales of Destiny for the PSX. It has all the elements that the other Tales have, but with the boost of "leveling up your weapon". I won't go into details about how that works for it is better to find that out on your own ^_^
Anyhow, it is 2 in the morning, so if this post is stupid, blaim lack of sleep.

Nice forums...I will be visiting here every once in a while for sure ^_^.

I was gonna say, I don't have a SNES and I'm not really into putting emulators on this computer, but since I have a PS2, there's a good chance of me checking out ToD in the future. Probably not anytime soon though, unless I happen to find it in the $5-10 bin at Gamestop or wherever. I see the ones on E-Bay going for an arm and a leg.

I haven't really had the time to dive into ToP, but I'm near the end of disc 1 for ToS.
I completely love this game, despite its vague start. They're all going "Help, Desians!" and I'm like "Yeah? So?". :P

Tales of Phantasia is the only RPG I've played that I've liked so far.

According to a site I found by using a handy tool called Google:

Quote:
Namco has deliberately kept this game Japan-only, believing that Namco of America would not make enough money off of the game to warrant its publishing.

So, there you go.
