Listening... Really cool. First thing that came to mind was Ayreon.

They seem to have gotten a little political lately, but it's nothing bad. I really recommend Ghost, Loot Burn Rape Kill Repeat, Legion of Stoopid, Soundtrack to the Rebellion, Attack Music, Hero, Hybrid, Bouff, Sidstyler, Arcade, their cover of The Great Gianna Sisters, I Turn to You, Masquerade, and both Sidologies. The Sidologies are great because they're huge medleys of Commodore 64 tunes (some of which most of you might be familiar with, like Bubble Bobble and Outrun).

I also recommend the entire Deus Ex Machinae album, if you can find it.

rock is good, ACDC is awesome, but VG music is better, especially remixes. some great music came from Chrono Cross (hey, someone should do one of these for that game) and ovoiusly ToS, Skies of Arcadia was awesome, and believe it or not Ninja Gaiden, the origional ones for the NES, and anyone who listened to Ashane's Ninjascape knows what i mean

Machinae Supremacy is VG-inspired, and they have done several VG covers, as well.

On another note: Ninja Gaiden is no suprise; most of those old NES soundtracks translate very well into a rock setting.
