This week kicks off the celebration of NGI #200 with the 2-part Greatest Hits Special! Kyle has lined up 50 of NGI‘s most influential remixes, arrangements, and original works, as well as choosing his favorite track from each of the KNGI Records releases for your listening pleasure! The crew recount how they each got into VGM arrangements, Larry talks about married life and weighs in on the Doritos Locos Taco from Taco Bell, the show temporarily shifts to Nitro Film Injection as the crew talk The Avengers (don’t worry; spoilers are kept minimal ), and Slider doesn’t do an art challenge because she’s mean. It’s a bit of a distracted show this week as NGI pays tribute to Konami! Larry is concerned about the OCReMix YouTube suspension debacle (help ‘em out! ) and Slider is in the middle of working on Christmas presents, leaving Kyle to do his best to batten down the hatches and play songs from Konami greats like Rush’n Attack, Metal Gear, Gradius, Twinbee, and plenty of others. virt and TrueStar also stop by for a lengthy chat about the awesomeness that is TrueStar’s radio show Noise Channel, virt’s work with WayForward, and…butts.
Slider managed to sketch up a quick art challenge this week, recreating the classic scene from the first TMNT movie: “DAAAAAAAMN!”

Yes, we have finally embraced the fact that we play too much Sonic and Mega Man music on this show.
Larry ditches NGI as Archie’s Sonic and Mega Man comic writer Ian Flynn fills in, joining Kyle and Slider for, fittingly, a tribute to the greatest blue heroes of video games: Sonic & Mega Man! He talks a bit about the new Mega Man comic book and gushes over the awesomeness of Sonic Generations, as Kyle talks about the amazing Arnold Schwarzenegger death metal band Austrian Death Machine. They also take a listen to songs from Beatdrop, Game Over, LeeBro, Sukotto42, Jun Senoue, and of course many more.
ALSO: Kyle and Larry sit down with Bassil Silver, the bassist of hardcore nostalgic metal band POWERGLOVE. Bassil joins us from the road as Powerglove tours with Symphony X and Blackguard. Hear how the tour is going, get some insight into the band’s beginnings, their writing, how being signed to a label is working for them, and listen to TWO Sonic & Mega Man-related tracks from their sophomore effort, Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man!
Slider is also issued her NGI Art Challenge for the week, and finally creates Rhino Blastoseed!
