Versus Month stretches the definition of what a “month” is and carries on with a question that has raged through the ages: who would win in a battle between robots and vampires? NGI finally answers that question as Kyle is joined by OverCoat this week, filling in for the absent Larry and almost absent Slider. The two check out music from One Must Fall, Turrican 3, Armored Core 4, BlazBlue, Darkstalkers, BloodRayne: Betrayal, and more!
Originally this was slated to be the last round of Versus Month, but with the results of the voting now playing into the KNGI Game Duels EPs, there will be a sixth battle next week. You won’t want to miss the epic confrontation of Demons vs. Dinosaurs!
Since Slider was missing for most of the show, Otakatt filled in and provided the art challenge for this week: Robots vs. Vampires!
Vote in the poll on the sidebar for which side you think defeated the other this week!

Larry’s out once again, but Stevo “Level 99″ Bortz steps up to handle co-hosting duties with Kyle and Slider. They also welcome very special guest: Jordan “bLiNd” Aguirre! He talks at length, revealing his brand new upcoming JRPG soundtrack project, giving insight into his creative process, detailing how his Super Dodge Ball remix got the attention of deadmau5, and a whole lot more. Stevo also talks a bit about the NiGHTS: Lucid Dreaming project and sings ‘Dreams Dreams’ as Homestar Runner, which gives Slider a hilarious idea and results in her art challenge for this episode! The guys also check out tracks from great electronic artists, like zircon, Beatdrop, Sir NutS, Xaleph, Magical Trick Society, Hidenori Shoji, and as always, many more.

The classically-trained Abadoss joins Nitro Game Injection and planned to crash the show, but even the most carefully-laid plans can be easily be ruined by a certain Oji.
The crew discusses Nobuo Uematsu’s new band Earthbound Papas, as Kyle admits that he screws up in not making this episode Father’s Day-themed. Larry also spills the beans on his proposal to “The Lady” Paige, and gives his advice on how all men should propose to their ladies: “if you want the shock, you need to wait a long time!” They also feature two tracks from University of Maryland’s Gamer Symphony Orchestra from their freshly released 2011 Spring session, the top tracks from Dwelling of Duels’ Sony Month, as well as music from doujin artists PHOENIX Project and Live House S.S.H., and more!
Abadoss give Slider her art challenge this week, and this is the result: FF9 Art Nouveau!

Yes, we have finally embraced the fact that we play too much Sonic and Mega Man music on this show.
Larry ditches NGI as Archie’s Sonic and Mega Man comic writer Ian Flynn fills in, joining Kyle and Slider for, fittingly, a tribute to the greatest blue heroes of video games: Sonic & Mega Man! He talks a bit about the new Mega Man comic book and gushes over the awesomeness of Sonic Generations, as Kyle talks about the amazing Arnold Schwarzenegger death metal band Austrian Death Machine. They also take a listen to songs from Beatdrop, Game Over, LeeBro, Sukotto42, Jun Senoue, and of course many more.
ALSO: Kyle and Larry sit down with Bassil Silver, the bassist of hardcore nostalgic metal band POWERGLOVE. Bassil joins us from the road as Powerglove tours with Symphony X and Blackguard. Hear how the tour is going, get some insight into the band’s beginnings, their writing, how being signed to a label is working for them, and listen to TWO Sonic & Mega Man-related tracks from their sophomore effort, Metal Kombat for the Mortal Man!
Slider is also issued her NGI Art Challenge for the week, and finally creates Rhino Blastoseed!

Larry decided that watching sweaty, half-naked men grapple with each other at Wrestlemania was more important than Nitro Game Injection, so Slider slides back into the co-hosting seat to join Kyle for a Mega Man tribute special! The two honor the anniversaries of the Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Zero series of games, talk extensively about some of the awesome, hilarious, and ridiculous antics that the various incarnations of Mega Man have gone through and some of the…strange decisions that Capcom have made over the years, and of course, play some great music selections! They check out tracks from ilp0, Vurez, The Megas, BONKERS, Prince of Darkness, and more on this great episode.

KyleJCrb was a special guest co-host with the crew on OverClocked After Dark, a podcast that’s not really about OCReMix or game music so much as it’s about three guys being irreverent and hilarious. They talk about entirely random topics, play a few game remixes, and have a great time. Check it out!
