KNGI Video Game Music Podcast Network :: The Home of Nitro Game Injection!

As you might know, there are dozens of web-based radio shows dedicated to video game music and VGM-inspired fare. To help you keep track of them and learn about shows you may not be aware of, KNGI presents the VGM Radio Calendar! From here, you can learn of the many radio shows around the internet dedicated to video game music and easily add them to your own Google calendar. KNGI/Arecibo Radio shows are included, as well as shows from the 8bitX Radio Network, SLAYRadio, RadioSEGA, Radio Nintendo and other networks, as well as a number of independent shows. If you host or know of another VGM-related radio show not on the calendar, just let us know and we’ll be happy to add it!

Join project director Wesley “Bahamut” Cho and KyleJCrb for a special 2-part episode of GameFuel featuring the music of Maverick Rising, the latest project from OverClocked ReMix covering the entire Mega Man X series! Bahamut will be providing commentary on the tracks and insight into the creation of the project live on the air, and they will be listening to the full project over the course of two days: March 17th will feature discs 1 and 2 from the project, while March 18th will feature discs 3 and 4. Nitro Game Injection and OverClocked ReMix are proud to announce the release of OCR’s 28th arrangement album, Super Dodge Ball: Around the World. This album, co-directed by Kyle Crouse (KyleJCrb) and Alan Bish (Murmeli Walan), features a variety of musical styles from a diverse lineup of musicians, paying homage to the classic 8-bit dodgeball game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

“With 19 arrangements from 25 artists, we pay tribute to Kazuo Sawa’s amazing Super Dodge Ball soundtrack with an eclectic mix of ethnic, metal, nerdcore hip-hop, new age, hardcore trance, and orchestral music. I am very proud to have assisted Walan in putting together an album that I feel is very consistent and fun to listen to. I hope everyone enjoys checking out Around the World!,” said Kyle.

For those of you who listened to last weeks’ Nitro Game Injection, you might remember that we had Akumu (Audun Sorlie) back on the air with us for a bit, mainly to talk about his displaced friend in Japan, doujin VGM arranger Fumapero. She was thought to have possibly been lost after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that hit near Sendai, but we have just received confirmation from Twitter that she and her family are okay! Details about her exact situation are scarce at the moment, but we at NGI are relieved to see that she has managed to survive the disaster. In a tweet addressed to KyleJCrb, she writes, “Thank you so much! Your tweets gave me courage. I survived. but Japan is still faced with many crises. I’ll do everything I can!”

If you are able to, please help the people of Japan by donating to the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, or other relief aid of your choice.
