Nitro Game Injection & DusK present Generation Gap: A Sonic The Hedgehog Tribute Album!

December 28, 2011 By: KyleJCrb Category: VGM News

Generation Gap

DusK, in association with Nitro Game Injection, is proud to announce the release of Generation Gap: A Sonic the Hedgehog Tribute Album. This EP, created by Dustin “DusK” Branscum, is a tribute to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, with 6 tracks celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Blue Blur. Generation Gap is available for free download at http://sthgg.kngi.org.

This album was produced to promote the music of Sonic the Hedgehog and its 20th anniversary, was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Sega Corporation, Sonic Team, or Sega Sammy Holdings; all original compositions are copyright their respective owners.

Dustin “DusK” Branscum says:

“Inspired by SEGA’s celebration of their mascot’s 20th anniversary (Sonic Generations), and influenced by Jun Senoue’s punk-heavy work in the Sonic Adventure titles, GENERATION GAP reflects some of DusK’s favorite compositions from the Genesis series, showcasing his own style and personality through a selection of tracks each embodying a playable character.
Most old-school Sonic fans will have fond memories of their first time dashing through Green Hill Zone as the blue blur, storming through Emerald Hill Zone with Tails in tow, exploring the high ground as the two-tailed fox in Sonic 3, and the showdown at the Hidden Palace against Knuckles the Echidna. Get ready to collect rings and spindash at lightspeed through two decades of nostalgia.”

October 31, 2011 By: KyleJCrb Category: NGI News, VGM News

Chernabogue, in association with Nitro Game Injection, is proud to announce the release of Vampire Variations: A Musical Tribute to Castlevania. This album, directed by Chernabogue, is a tribute to the NES game Castlevania with 19 tracks celebrating the 25th anniversary of Konami’s venerable series of platforming games, featuring some of the best names in the video game remix community: Stemage of Metroid Metal; regular Dwelling of Duels contenders BONKERS, VikingGuitar, and Brandon Strader; OverClocked ReMix artists The Dual Dragons, and many more. Vampire Variations is available for free download at http://www.vampirevariations.com.

This album was produced to promote the music of the Castlevania series and its 25th anniversary, was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Konami Digital Entertainment Inc.; all original compositions are copyright their respective owners.

Director Alexandre “Chernabogue” Mourey says:

“It is with an immense pleasure and honour that I am able to present to you Vampire Variations: A Musical Tribute to Castlevania. Vampire Variations was created to celebrate the twenty fifth anniversary of Konami’s landmark series, Castlevania. Fourteen musicians to arrange the mythic soundtrack of the original NES game that started it all. Four visual artists to recreate the unique atmosphere of the demon’s lair known as Castlevania. A wide variety of musical genres going from Rock and Orchestral to Jazz and Electronic music, including various references to other titles from the series. It has been a true honour and a privilege to create, direct and contribute to a such project. I would like to thank everyone who suported this venture, and to all people involved be they musician or visual artist. Now, be prepared for an Aria of Sorrow, a desperate Rondo of Blood to this Symphony of the Night! The Lord of Shadows rises from his grave and only one man can stop him…What a horrible night to have a curse!

Announcing Super Dodge Ball: Around The World!

October 10, 2011 By: KyleJCrb Category: VGM News

Nitro Game Injection and OverClocked ReMix are proud to announce the release of OCR’s 28th arrangement album, Super Dodge Ball: Around the World. This album, co-directed by Kyle Crouse (KyleJCrb) and Alan Bish (Murmeli Walan), features a variety of musical styles from a diverse lineup of musicians, paying homage to the classic 8-bit dodgeball game for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

With 19 arrangements from 25 artists, we pay tribute to Kazuo Sawa’s amazing Super Dodge Ball soundtrack with an eclectic mix of ethnic, metal, nerdcore hip-hop, new age, hardcore trance, and orchestral music. I am very proud to have assisted Walan in putting together an album that I feel is very consistent and fun to listen to. I hope everyone enjoys checking out Around the World!,” said Kyle.

The album was produced to help promote the music of Super Dodge Ball, was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Technos; all original compositions and characters are copyright their respective owners.

Alan Bish added: “The original concept of Around the World was to showcase and tribute the music of Kazuo Sawa by reimagining his Super Dodge Ball soundtrack in an ethnic style. Over seven years after the concept’s creation, Around the World has been released! …This album would have never been completed without the help of co-director KyleJCrb, who stepped in in 2009 and recruited an amazing group of talented musicians from all corners of the Internet. It’s my hope that everyone who listens will enjoy Around the World!

BREAKING NEWS: Fumapero is okay!

March 18, 2011 By: KyleJCrb Category: VGM News

For those of you who listened to last weeks’ Nitro Game Injection, you might remember that we had Akumu (Audun Sorlie) back on the air with us for a bit, mainly to talk about his displaced friend in Japan, doujin VGM arranger Fumapero. She was thought to have possibly been lost after the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that hit near Sendai, but we have just received confirmation from Twitter that she and her family are okay! Details about her exact situation are scarce at the moment, but we at NGI are relieved to see that she has managed to survive the disaster. In a tweet addressed to KyleJCrb, she writes, “Thank you so much! Your tweets gave me courage. I survived. but Japan is still faced with many crises. I’ll do everything I can!”

If you are able to, please help the people of Japan by donating to the Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, or other relief aid of your choice.
