TrueStar here!  I want to update everyone on some upcoming listening parties that will be airing on Noise Channel over the course of this month.

April 5th – Ubiktune’s SOUNDSHOCK 2:  FM FUNK TERRROR!! – Facebook Event

April 12th – Disasterpeace’s Fez Soundtrack – Facebook Event

May 3rd – Coda’s Tracer album (his solo debut) – Facebook Event

SOUNDSHOCK 2 and Tracer will be played in its entirety and then made available to the public via Ubiktune.  Fez will be available on XBox Live the day after the listening party.  It can be purchased for 800 MS points.

While Kyle has been a wonderful host to Noise Channel since it began, it’s time to leave the nest.  Noise Channel now has its own dedicated website.  This new website will also archive all previous episodes and update the listeners with news and upcoming events.

I will still post announcements on KNGI as Noise Channel still lies under the umbrella of video game related podcasts.  However, it’s archives and RSS feed will be linked to the new, dedicated website.

Piano God and chiptune master, Shnabubula, will release his NES Jamz album on March 15th.  Here is a description, provided by Ubiktune.

NES Jamz consists of 10 covers of classic game music themes + one completely original song, including such well-known games as TMNT 1 & 2, Contra, Megaman 2 & 3, Double Dragon, Castlevania, Zelda 2, Little Nemo: the Dream Master and Shatterhand. But as the name says, these are not just pure covers: Shnabubula goes further and makes it jam with his unique fingers like you’ve never heard! All the songs were recorded within 3 months of hard work, using only the piano and NES.

Noise Channel will host a pre-release listening party for NES Jamz.  TrueStar will play the entire album and share details about the album and individual tracks with the listeners.  Shnabubula himself will be available to talk to in the Arecibo Radio chatroom.  After the show, NES Jamz will be released to the public via Ubiktune.

Be sure to tune in on March 15th and join in on the fun and incredible music by Shnabubula!

On March 1st, Jake ‘virt’ Kaufman will release FX4, the latest volume of his series of chiptune albums.  To celebrate the release, TrueStar, along with virt, will host an exclusive pre-release listening party.  Listen to the entire FX4 album before it is available to the public!

TrueStar will talk with virt on the air about creating FX4 (as well as the previous FX albums) and then play the entire album uninterrupted.  After the show, virt will make the album available for download.

Be sure to tune in at 10pm Eastern on March 1st!  This is something you absolutely do not want to miss!

The week before, February 23rd, TrueStar will play the first three FX albums in preparation for the FX4 release.  If you haven’t heard them in awhile, it would be a great opportunity to get reacquainted with them!

Normally I’m not a big fan of Valetine’s Day.  Love is something that should be expressed in little ways every day!  However…how awesome would it be to remind your special someone how much you adore them with a chiptune?!

On February 16th, Noise Channel will have its very first Valentine’s Day Special!  Here’s how it’ll work.:

1.  Do you have someone special you’d like to dedicate a song to or have a message for?  It can be a girl/boyfriend, husband/wife, or even a good friend.  Don’t have anyone worthy enough of a dedication?  Fuck it then, dedicate a song to yourself!  Lets throw tradition right out of the window.

2.  Email the name of the song that you would like played, along with who it is dedicated to (and a message to be read if desired) to noisechanradio@gmail.com.

3.  Tune in with that special someone (or someones..?) on February 16th and have a fantastic time!

I think I’ll play a song for Nugget.  He’s the puggle of my life. :3

O.S.T Listening Party!

Noise Channel will host a listening party for Daniel Capo’s chiptune album titled ‘O.S.T.: Original Soundtrack’.

Tune in tomorrow (January 12) at 10pm Eastern to listen to  the album played in full.  TrueStar will talk about the details of the album itself as well as Daniel’s insights and inspirations for each track.

Everyone here at Noise Channel wishes you a happy holiday!  Thank you for listening to our show; it amazes us every single week that anyone bothers to tune in at all!  It never gets old and we love every minute of it.  We hope that you will stick with us into the new year.

Next year we already have a listening party on January 12th for Daniel Capo’s ‘O.S.T.: Original Soundtrack’ album and I’m working on having a show dedicated to the talented Ryu Umemoto.  Producer Jake and I will also have new Chip 101 episodes.
